Thirty Paintings in 30 Days - Day 8
A Pear
6" x 6" Acrylic on loose canvas
$45

It seems that every artist somewhere along the way paints a pear.  Here, then, is my contribution!  I chose a subject that would not be too complicated so that I would have a bit of a breather.  After all, I still have other things in life that need attention!

I am finding that a fair amount of time is involved beyond the two hour self imposed time limit to paint.  There is the preparation of the canvases, photographing the finished painting, then posting to Face Book, posting to my blog, posting to my website, and posting to the website for all the participants in the 30 day challenge.  It's a good thing I'm retired (or am I just tired!).

This challenge is still excellent and I am learning so much about myself, about the paint, about composition, and about computers that fail to cooperate, etc..  I'm glad I decided to be involved!

  1. oh? there's a website to post on here for our daily paintings of the challenge? I agree, Gerry, so much more than just the painting part, and yes, it's all learning and good, no matter what, itsa good thing! This painting makes me feel happy! as do all your paintings, must be your spirit coming through.
