Abstract
6" x 6" Acrylic on loose canvas
$45
I have been slightly interested in abstract paintings and
have even attempted a few of them. At
first I thought it was just a matter of throwing some paint on the canvas and
whatever resulted was a good abstract.
Not so!
In doing some research I discovered that there must be a
compositional plan, the colors must be chosen carefully, and the artist must
know what they want to communicate. Elements
such as unity, harmony, balance, direction, form, dominance, etc. must all be
evident in a good abstract. I also
discovered that there are many different kinds of abstract paintings like
linear abstracts, realistic abstracts,
geometric abstracts, symbolic abstracts, shapeless abstracts and
probably a hundred different other forms.
All that being said here is my attempt at an abstract for
the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge.
